Sheboygan North had a great showing at the Berlin Forensics Tournament. Of our nine entries, six went on to compete in final rounds. Our team score average was over ten points, which is a number we haven’t seen for a few years. I’m very pleased that our focus on excellent performance is paying off.
Some notable performances this weekend:
•Our current State Champion, Liz Gartman, defended her title, winning 1st place in Solo Serious
•Novice performer Caitie Koch powered in Poetry at her very first tournament
•The team takes first place in medium team
•Dan and I were called on as the “theater people” in attendance at the tournament to turn on the sound and lights for the awards ceremony.
Next week, the team will compete at Appleton East, which is a significantly larger tournament with more teams. We’ll have to work hard if we want to see this kind of success throughout the season.
